Damascus Countryside, SANA- Adra Industrial city, in Damascus countryside has formed one of the largest economic tributaries of the country.
It extends over an area of 7,005 hectares, supply the local market with its products and export the surplus.
Number of facilities in which the wheel of production is turning is 988, and the number of allocated plots is 5,566, while the number of factories under construction is 2,398, with an expected investment volume for this year estimated at 1,051 billion Syrian pounds.
The industries in the city are distributed within the large industrial area, which includes iron, pipe, ceramic and fodder industries, an area for building materials industries, an area for chemical industries, in addition to an area for food industries and another for the tanning industry.
“work is currently underway to amend the investment system in industrial cities to ensure justice and clarity in the method of investing land and granting flexibility to pay the value of the land in installments to industrialists”, Director-general of the City Eng. Hassan al-Sayed told SANA reporter.
Eng. al-Sayed pointed out that a number of expatriate industrialists wishing to invest in the city were received, and the services provided, facilities, speed of completion, and granting of the necessary licenses were explained, which contributes to optimal investment for all sectors.
