First Sharia Judge of Damascus: Monday June 5th is first day of Ramadan

Damascus, SANA First Sharia Judge of Damascus Mohammad al-Ma’arawi announced on Sunday evening that Monday June 6th is the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.

On this occasion, President Bashar al-Assad received congratulator cables from al-Ma’arawi, Awqaf (Religious Endowments) Minister Mohammad Abdelsattar al-Sayyed, Justice Minister Najm al-Ahmad, and Grand Mufti of the Republic Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun.
