Damascus, SANA- The Acting Minister of Health, Dr. Maher al-Sharaa, discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation with a delegation from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
During a meeting held Sunday at the Ministry’s headquarters, Dr. al-Sharaa highlighted the new organizational structure and measures implemented over the past three months.
He tackled the damage to healthcare facilities, the shortage of specialists in certain medical fields, and emphasized that efforts are being prioritized to improve the healthcare sector.
In a video intervention, Elfatih Abdelrahim, Regional Advisor for Health and Development at the UNDP, stated that the program seeks to support the health sector’s infrastructure in Syria. This includes rehabilitating and renovating health facilities, installing solar energy systems, focusing on primary healthcare, and providing training.
