Information Minister: Confronting incitement and hate speech is everyone’s responsibility in state-building phase

Damascus, SANA- Information Minister, Dr. Hamza al-Mustafa, affirmed that Syria needs a broad and detailed code of ethics in the drafting of which media institutions, syndicates, and various social forces participate, so that it gains its symbolic value before the state approves it as a legal reference for regulating media and political discourse and clarifying the boundaries between freedom of expression and chaos.

Minister al-Mustafa said in a tweet on (X): Confronting incitement, hate speech, and societal polarization is everyone’s responsibility in the state-building phase.

He stressed that the Information Ministry will play its role in this regard through various strategies and tools that will soon see the light.

He considered freedom to be a supreme value for which Syrians have paid a heavy price to attain, and it is also a responsibility, in thought and practice.
