Damascus, SANA- President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ahmad al-Sharaa, said that Syria is a State of law, and the law will take its course on everyone, adding that we basically came out to confront the ousted Assad regime, and we only arrived to Damascus to support the oppressed people.
“We do not accept a drop of blood to be shed unjustly or this blood be shed in vain without accountability or punishment, no matter who it is, even if it is the people closest to us or the people farthest from us, there is no difference in this matter, assaulting the sanctity of people, violating their blood or their money, this is a red line in Syria,” President al-Sharaa told Reuters in an interview published on Monday.
The President added that the event that happened two days ago will affect the process, and we will restore the situation, God willing, as much as we can, a committee has been formed to preserve civil peace and reconciliation among the people, because blood brings more blood.
President al-Sharaa added that Assad’s loyalists and an allied foreign State are the ones who ignited the clashes to stir up unrest and create sectarian strife in order to reach a state of destabilization and insecurity inside Syria.
“Security and economic prosperity are directly linked to lifting the US sanctions imposed on the Assad regime, we cannot control security in the country while sanctions are in place against us,” President al-Sharaa said.
He added that the Syrian file does not seem to be on the United States’ list of priorities, and I believe that the question about the existence of contact with the Trump administration should be directed to them. Syria’s door is open for communication.
“We do not want to be a rupture of relation between Syria and Russia, and we do not want the Russian presence in Syria to pose a danger or threat to any country in the world, and we want to maintain these deep strategic relations,” President al-Sharaa concluded.
