Damascus, SANA- On Wednesday, Education Minister, Mohammad Abdul Rahman Turko, discussed with the British envoy to Syria, Ann Snow, the state of education in Syria, and ways to enhance collaboration between the two countries in order to develop the education system.
Future projects that support the educational sector, the reality of demolished school buildings, and the mechanism for their reconstruction and restoration were reviewed during the meeting.
Minister Turko pointed to the challenges facing the education sector, which require great support and efforts, stressing the need to lift economic sanctions on Syria, which constitute an obstacle to reconstruction.
For her part, the British envoy expressed her country’s readiness to provide support in various fields, especially technical ones.
