Jordan to host a regional meeting on Syria to discuss common issues and challenges

Amman, SANA- Jordanian Foreign Ministry announced that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will host a meeting of Syria’s neighboring countries in the capital Amman next Sunday to discuss cooperation in combating terrorism, drug and arms smuggling, and confronting other common challenges.

“The meeting will also discuss ways to support the brotherly Syrian people in their efforts to rebuild their country on the foundations that guarantee its unity, sovereignty, security and stability while addressing of terrorism, ensure conditions for the voluntary return of refugees, and preserve the rights of all its people,” Jordanian News Agency (Petra) quoted the official spokesman for the ministry, Ambassador Dr.Sufyan al-Qudah, as saying in a statement.

Ambassador al-Qudah noted that foreign ministers, defense ministers, chiefs of staff, and intelligence heads from Jordan, Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon will attend the meeting.
