Putin, Merkel discuss situation in Syria in a phone call

Moscow, SANA- Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday discussed the situation in Syria in a phone call with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Kremlin website said that during the phone call Putin and Merkel exchanged viewpoints on guaranteeing the return of the displaced Syrians to their homeland.

The two sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
