Governor and dignitaries of Sweida reiterate their commitment to the State’s sovereignty

Damascus, SANA- Sweida Governor Mustafa al-Bakour said on Tuesday that  any side threatens citizens or security and police personnel will be dealt with firmly.

Al-Bakour pointed out in a statement to the Syrian News Channel that  90 percent of the province’s residents support the state’s sovereignty and oppose any foreign interference.

The governor added that the little voice that appeared in the media, and called for foreign intervention, does not represent the people of Sweida, and is a remnant of the ousted regime, noting the upcoming steps represented by implementing the agreement with the Sheikhdom of Akl , to build trust and enhance stability.

Al-Bakour stated that all police officers in Sweida are from the province, with the exception of the police chief and some administrators.

Meanwhile, his Eminence Sheikh Akl of the Unitarian Muslim Community, Hammoud Al-Hinawi, affirmed in a statement to Al-Ikhbariya that the situation in Suwayda tends to calm down and stabilize with cooperation between officials and the Sheikhdom of Aql, indicating that the governorate has a long history of patriotism and the people of the governorate can’t deviate from the national framework or compromise on the national issue that represents Honor and belonging.
