Syrian-Saudi discussions to activate cooperation in the field of higher education

Damascus, SANA-Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Marwan al-Halabi discussed with the Saudi Ambassador to Damascus Dr. Faisal al-Majfal prospects for cooperation between Syria and Saudi Arabia in the field of higher education and scientific research.

Challenges facing the higher education sector, means of cooperation in the field of university twinning, self-support programs for universities, attracting outstanding students in specific disciplines, adopting distinguished scientific studies and research, and coordinating, cooperating, and consulting in the field of increasing the accreditation of Syrian universities, were discussed during the meeting.

Dr.al-Halabi emphasized the need to leverage the expertise of Saudi universities in increasing accreditation, quality, and databases, as well as the possibility of reopening the Saudi Cultural Attaché Office to support the academic sector.

The Saudi ambassador pointed to the possibility of activating previous agreements, creating cooperation, and concluding new agreements that serve current trends and needs.
