Damascus, SANA- Minister of Tourism Mazen Al-Salhani discussed with the Turkish Chargé d’Affaires in Syria, Burhan Koroglu, ways to develop tourism cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting held Thursday, at the Ministry building, the two sides discussed ways to activate joint work between the two countries and enhance Turkish tourism to Syria, in addition to signing several new agreements regarding tourist resorts in several governorates, to consolidate and revitalize relations.
Minister al-Salhani stressed in a statement to a SANA reporter that the Sulaymaniyah Tekke must be reactivated, focus on its religious and historical aspect, and refine the Syrian capabilities capable of restoring it in cooperation with Turkish capabilities, indicating the possibility of using it as an archaeological tourist attraction.
In a similar statement, Koroglu expressed his country’s readiness to support the tourism sector in Syria, and to provide all the necessary facilities and equipment to restore tourist places, indicating the desire of the Turkish Minister of Tourism and Culture to visit Syria to discuss tourism work.
