Damascus-SANA-The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has established a new department within the ministry’s structure called the “General Secretariat for Political Affairs.”
The ministry clarified that the General Secretariat will oversee management of political activities and events within Syria, and organizing them in accordance with the governing laws and regulations.
According to the ministry, the Secretariat will work to re-employ the assets of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party, the parties of the National Progressive Front, and their affiliated dissolved organizations and committees to serve political and national tasks and responsibilities.
The General Secretariat for Political Affairs has an independent budget within the general budget of the Ministry and is subject to the supervision of the competent oversight authorities.
