“Their Joy is the Greatest Honor” is an Iftar banquet for orphaned children in Damascus

Damascus, SANA-On the occasion of Orphan’s Day in the Islamic World, which falls on the 15th of Ramadan, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, in partnership with the Orphans Care Union, held Saturday, an Iftar banquet for about 80 orphans, under the slogan “Their joy is the greatest honor”, in the capital, Damascus.

In a speech, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Fadi al-Qassem confirmed the need to support and care for orphans, and to work on several programs and plans to empower them scientifically and psychologically to ensure them quality education and health care, to be part of building the future Syria.

In turn, the Governor of Damascus, Maher Marwan, pointed to the importance of the participation of all segments of society in standing by orphans, caring for them and adhering to their rights.

Interior Minister, Ali Keda, Minister of Awqaf, Hossam Haj Hussein, Minister of Information, Mohammad al-Omar, a representative of the Qatari Embassy in Damascus Saeed al-Qahtani, and counselor at the Saudi Embassy, Abdullah al-Sulami had attende the event that had been held at at the Rofana Hall in Damascus.
