International Cooperation Directorate at Education Ministry continues efforts to improve education quality

Damascus, SANA- Directorate of Planning and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Education continues its efforts in planning with partners in the education sector to bridge the significant gaps in student needs, textbooks, school buildings, and staff training, which contributes to improving the quality of education in Syria and providing a suitable educational environment.

Youssef Annan, Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the ministry, explained to SANA’s reporter that the directorate participates in a comprehensive evaluation of buildings, staff, and students.

Meetings have been organized with delegations, and local, international, and UN organizations, including UNICEF and UNESCO, to identify the needs of schools and students, support the educational process, and discuss the general educational situation, according to Annan.

He added that an accurate census and data analysis have been conducted for the directorate’s sub-branches in the governorates, which include the number of students, teachers, schools, and infrastructure needs.

Annan emphasized the importance of developing a work strategy based on data and analyses, continuing to set priorities according to the ministry’s vision, holding workshops with partner organizations to discuss challenges and present priorities, and issuing monthly reports on needs and updating statistics.
