Health Ministry honors Qatari medical team performed several heart operations in Syria

Damascus, SANA- As a part of the medical project carried out by Qatar Red Crescent in several countries around the world, Health Ministry honored Qatari medical team from Hamad Medical Corporation and Sidra Medicine Hospital, in appreciation of efforts exerted in performing cardiac catheterizations and repairing heart defects in children for free in Syria.

During the honoring ceremony took place at the Ministry, the Acting Assistant of Health Ministry, Dr. Hussein al-Khatib, thanked the Qatari team for efforts exerted to ease the burdens through performing many operations free of charge, as a first stage, followed by another stage later.

‏Al-Khatib expressed the Ministry gratitude to Qatar State for its pioneering contribution in sending medical cadres to Syria.

For his part, the Qatari medical team stressed readiness to provide more support to the health sector in Syria, through performing many surgical operations during the coming period, in addition to provide the sector with medical equipment and supplies.

‏The team, that performed 80 cardiac catheterization operations and repaired heart deformities in children free of charge from the February 22nd to 27th, was honored by commemorative shields.
