Brussels, SANA- Patriarch of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church Joseph Absi called for promoting efforts to achieve a comprehensive peace in the Middle East region and maintain security and stability in it.

Patriarch Absi remarks came during a mass held in the Belgium city of Ieper.

“We pray for peace in Syria and for the world peace in general and peace in the Middle East, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt and Palestine,” the Patriarch said.
