Festival for People with Special Needs kicks in Sweida

Sweida, SANA –The 4th Festival for People with Special Needs kicked off on Sunday in Sweida Province.

The event, held by The Syrian Association for the People with Special Needs in cooperation with Sweida City Council, will be concluded on August 12.

Head of the Association’s branch in Sweida, Nizar Shujaa, said the festival has turned into an annual tradition that aims at providing support to the people with special needs as a step to integrate them into society.

He added that the festival includes bazaars to sell the merchandize made by disabled individuals or their families in addition to bazaars that sell food and other commodities to people with special needs in incentive prices.

The activities of the first day also included poetry recitals and art performances in addition to distributing mobility assistance equipment.

The festival will also honor a number of disabled artists.
