Damascus, SANA-Health Ministry launched on Tuesday a project aims to conduct 1,000 free surgeries to remove cataract, in cooperation with the “Alameen” organization.
“The project targets patients with cataract who need surgical intervention to restore vision and improve their lives by providing the necessary free surgical treatment,” the ministry said in a post on its Telegram channel.
A cataract is a cloudy area in the lens of the eye that leads to a decrease in vision of the eye, cataract often develops slowly and can affect one or both eyes.
