EgyptAir plane hijacked, all passengers released in Cyprus, except the crew and 4 foreigners

Cairo, SANA – EgyptAir said Tuesday that all passengers of its hijacked jet were released in Cyprus, except for the crew and four foreigners.

The plane was hijacked, after taking off from Burj al-Arab Airport of Alexandria on a domestic flight to Cairo with 55 passengers on board, by a passenger who threatened to detonate an explosive belt. The plane was forced to change its destination to Larnaca Airport, Cyprus, Egyptian officials said.
