Foreign Ministry welcomes OIC decision to resume Syria’s membership following Assad regime fall

Damascus, SANA- Foreign Ministry welcomed decision of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to restore Syria’s membership after 13 years of suspension in light of the brutal crimes committed by the deposed Assad regime, stressing that this decision represents an important step towards Syria’s return to the regional and international societies as a free and just State.

 “As a government composed of those who once suffered from the Assad’s tyranny before becoming the liberators of our homeland, we reaffirm our firm commitment to the OIC principles of Islamic cooperation, justice and dignity, we are ready to work side by side with our brothers and sisters in the Islamic world to rebuild Syria and boost our region on the basis of our shared values ​​of justice, peace and cooperation,” Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Foreign Ministry added that “together, we look forward to building a future in which the Syrian people regain their rightful place among nations, contributing to a stronger and more unified Islamic world.”
