De Mistura: Saudi regime said it won’t hinder Geneva talks on Syria

Geneva, SANA – UN Special Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura said that the Saudi regime’s severing diplomatic relations with Tehran will not derail the talks over the political process in Syria, scheduled to take place this month in Geneva.

Following his meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister and a number of “Syrian opposition” figures in Riyadh on Tuesday, de Mistura said the Saudi officials said KSA will not hinder the talks, according to Reuters.

A source at UN told AFP earlier that de Mistura will meet Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem next Saturday in Damascus ahead of A Syrian-Syrian dialogue expected late this month in Geneva.
