Moscow, SANA-Official Spokesperson of the Russian Defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov reiterated on Tuesday that the Russian air force in Syria “doesn’t work in residential regions,” particularly in historical regions.
“Terrorists of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria are exploiting this status meantime,” Russian media outlets quoted Konashenkov as saying in a statement, adding that “All foreign media outlets which alleged that Russian warplanes raided areas in Palmyra are mere lies.”
He affirmed that ISIS terrorists have destroyed the well-known Arch of Triumph in Palmyra before several days.
