CBS announces USD 25 million for sale

Damascus, SANA – Governor of the Central Bank of Syria (CBS) announced USD 25 million to be sold to licensed exchange institutions working in Syria.

The mount put up for sale is meant to meet the foreign currency needs for commercial purposes in the coming three days.

Speaking during a session to discuss the latest developments in the foreign currency market, the CBS Governor Adib Mayyaleh said the foreign currency earnings of the bank have been steadily growing compared to the current burdens and obligations.

He expressed readiness to cover any increase in the market’s needs, referring to allocating a further amount of USD 50 million to be injected in the market next week.
