Damascus, SANA- Minister of Defense Eng. Murhaf Abu Qasra and Minister of Interior Anas Khattab met Tuesday to discuss joint work mechanisms between their ministries, aiming to strengthen security and civil peace while achieving the highest levels of cooperation and coordination.
The two ministers also explored ways to begin the process of confining weapons to the state and limiting their widespread use, which would enhance safety and reduce uncontrolled violations.
The meeting also addressed the pursuit of outlaw groups, methods to prevent arms from reaching them, and the exchange of information regarding their locations and presence.
Additionally, discussions covered the role of both ministries in border control to curb smuggling activities inside and outside the country, particularly the smuggling of weapons and narcotics, contributing to regional peace.
