Damascus, SANA- Minister of Health Dr. Musab al-Ali met with the World Health Organization (WHO) representative in Syria, Christina Bethke, and her accompanying delegation to discuss ways to enhance health cooperation.

During a meeting held Tuesday at the ministry headquarters, the two sides discussed the mechanism for transferring the authority and operations of the Gaziantep office to the WHO office in Damascus and the Ministry of Health to oversee activities following Syria’s liberation and the downfall of the deposed regime.

Dr. al-Ali highlighted the sensitivity of the phase Syria is currently experiencing and stressed the need to intensify support to revitalize the healthcare sector and provide the best medical services to patients, considering WHO the ministry’s most important partner at this stage.
