Damascus, SANA- Minister of Economy and Industry, Mohammad Nidal al-Shaar, discussed Sunday, with Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov and the accompanying delegation the prospects for economic cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Minister al-Shaar highlighted the historical relations between Syria and Azerbaijan, calling for their effective and genuine development to the benefit of both countries.
The Minister articulated that more than a million people are still in the camps, and they need to be returned to their homes safely to live a decent life, pointing out the possibility of employing and benefiting from their experiences, especially since many of them have experience and certificates, which is essential for rebuilding Syrian society again.
Al-Shaar pointed to the destruction and devastation that befell all aspects of life in Syria, such as education, culture, and others, in addition to the presence of many destroyed or stopped industrial facilities that need to be reactivated and restored, so that the wheel of production in Syria can begin again.
In turn, Sharifov stressed that today’s visit stems from Azerbaijan’s desire to contribute effectively and quickly to the reconstruction of Syria, particularly in the areas of energy, industry, health, and education, noting that Azerbaijan had a similar experience in reconstruction, and the visit represents an opportunity to exchange expertise in this field.
Sharifov invited Minister al-Shaar to visit Azerbaijan to view the projects in all fields.
