Damascus, SANA-The Minister of Transport, Dr. Ya’rub Badr, met with the Chairman and members of the General Cooperative Union for Transport, along with representatives from cooperative associations across several Syrian provinces, to address the challenges faced by truck drivers, including operational difficulties and limited job opportunities.
During the meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, Dr. Badr emphasized the importance of assessing the conditions and activities of truck drivers and enhancing their performance.
He called for keeping pace with local, regional, and international developments in the transport sector, revisiting existing laws, regulations, and systems to ensure public interest and the rights of transport workers. He also highlighted the role of cooperatives as effective partners in achieving the desired goals.
Participants urged the activation of role offices in the provinces to ensure fair distribution of work and tackle the obstacles hindering their operations through practical solutions.
