Damascus, SANA- Minister of Agriculture, Amjad Badr discussed with directors and representatives of agricultural and veterinary companies participating in the “Agro Syria” exhibition, held at the Damascus International Fairgrounds, mechanisms for overcoming the problems and difficulties facing their companies to develop the agricultural sector.
During a meeting, the participants’ proposals focused on providing facilities to investors, reducing customs duties on sector supplies, and the need to support and protect farmers, including purchasing wheat from them at favorable prices.
The proposals also addressed the importance of establishing advanced analytical laboratories, facilitating the registration process for veterinary and agricultural medicines, and the need to support the poultry sector, exempting its supplies from customs duties, and protecting it by preventing or reducing the entry of frozen chicken into the markets. Syria.
The Agriculture Minister noted that the agricultural sector is experiencing some problems and difficulties, stressing that the Ministry is currently working to amend laws and legislation to contribute to the development of the agricultural sector and facilitate the work of companies operating in the sector.
