Geneva, SANA- The UN Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, has strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli military escalation in Syria, including airstrikes.
In a statement issued by his office, Pedersen expressed deep concern over Israel’s continued violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
He described these actions as unacceptable and risk further destabilizing an already fragile situation, escalating regional tensions and undermining efforts to de-escalate and achieve a sustainable political transition in accordance with the basic principles of Security Council Resolution 2254.
The UN Special Envoy for Syria called on Israel to stop violations, respect its international obligations, and refrain from unilateral actions that exacerbate the conflict.
He also urged all parties to respect Syria’s sovereignty, unity, independence, and territorial integrity.
