Cairo, SANA- President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Ahmad Al-Sharaa, said on Tuesday that Syria was and still is part of the great Arab home, and its return to the Arab League is a historic moment that reflects desire to boost Arab solidarity.
“On this historic day, I express our thanks and gratitude for your continued support for the Syrian people,” President al-Sharaa said in a speech to the extraordinary Arab Summit “Palestine Summit” held in the Egyptian capital of Cairo.
President Al-Sharaa added that Syria was one of the first countries to support Arab rights.
“Today we see new attempts to impose solutions that seek to draw new geographical maps at the expense of the blood of the Palestinian people, and the calls for the forced displacement of the Palestinian people from their territory are disgrace against humanity,” President al-Sharaa added.
The President stressed that the uprooting of the Palestinian people from their land is unacceptable and time has come for us all as Arabs to stand up against those plots, and the same calls to displace Palestinians are not only a threat to the Palestinian people but to the entire Arab nation.
“The Arab countries must unite their stances and assume their responsibilities towards the Palestinian people,” President al-Sharaa said.
He added that the Syrian people will always stand by their Palestinian brothers in their struggle to obtain their rights.
As for Syria, the President stressed that since its occupation of the Syrian Golan in 1967, Israel has not stopped violating the rights of our people.
“We are committed to the 1974 disengagement agreement and it is unacceptable for the Israeli side to continue ignoring this agreement,” the President said.
