Education ministry, UNICEF discuss mechanism for completing remedial curriculum for school dropouts

Damascus, SANA- Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Education, Youssef Annan, and Director of the National Center for Curriculum Development at the Ministry of Education Hussein al-Qassem discussed with representatives of the (UNICEF) mechanism for completing development of the remedial curriculum aimed  at school dropouts in Syria.

In a statement to the reporters following the meeting,the director of planning and international cooperation noted that discussions focused on the remedial curriculum ,the amendments made to it,and the coordination mechanism for the remaining levels .

He explained that the remedial curriculum is being prepared by the ministry with funding from UNICEF.It is an informal educational program targeting students who have dropped out of the educational process.

For his part, Al-Qassim said that the purpose of the meeting is to advance the printing process of  the remedial curriculum, which relies on self-directed learning through activities carried out by the student, allowing them to access information independently.

Al-Qassim pointed out that the students’ levels in the remedial curriculum are determined through tests.
