And with the participation of about 188 people from all components of civil society in Damascus countryside, the session held at Arab Cultural Center in Kafr Souseh in Damascus.

The session’s discussions focused on transitional justice, drafting a new constitution, reforming and building government institutions and holding corrupt individuals accountable, issues of personal and public freedoms, respect for religions, the role of community and international organizations in the reconstruction phase, defining general economic principles in the next phase, and the necessity of holding accountable those who caused the killing of many citizens of the country.

Head of the Preparatory Committee of the National Dialogue Conference, Maher Alloush said that the importance of the conference lies in the fact that the Syrians have not held dialogues among themselves for 75 years as they do today, and they have not had any political participation in building their country, and that the Victory Conference was merely a beginning or a cornerstone from which we set out.
