Education Ministry, Libraries Without Borders discuss ways of cooperating‏

Damascus, SANA- Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Education, Youssef Annan, discussed on Wednesday with a delegation from the French Libraries Without Borders (LWB) organization ways to enhance educational cooperation in the areas of school renovation, establishing a mobile electronic library, and free offline websites and applications for students.

During a meeting held at the Ministry building in Damascus, the two sides discussed mechanisms for training teachers, preparing classes for blended learning, providing them with computers and projectors and cooperating with a number of schools to implement the organization’s activities.

Annan pointed out the necessity of implementing the organization’s activities according to the priorities determined by the ministry based on needs, explaining the importance of working to rehabilitate educational facilities and schools out of service, in cooperation with the organization to implement activities after school hours, in addition to the possibility of training French language teachers.

For its part, the organization’s delegation pointed out the importance of monitoring the capabilities of schools that can be used, and determining the needs required to develop a plan to implement activities, as well as the importance of coordination with international organizations operating in Syria within the education sector.
