Syrian Civil Aviation explains why Turkish Airlines flight did not land at Damascus Airport

Damascus, SANA- the Director of Public Relations at the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, Alaa Sallal, clarified the reasons behind the return of a Turkish Airlines plane without completing the landing at Damascus International Airport.

In a statement to SANA, Sallal, explained that the pilot decided not to proceed to Damascus after receiving a weather report from Beirut’s monitoring center. The report indicated the presence of thunderstorms and rain around the airport, which could affect the visual approach for landing.
