Second round of Iranian presidential election kicks off in Iran and abroad

Tehran, SANA- The voting process of the second round of the 14th Iranian presidential elections began on Friday across Iran and abroad.

Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi noted in a press conference on Friday that the second round of elections will begin at 8:00 a.m. Tehran time, with two candidates Saeed Jalili and Masoud Pezeshkian.

From the early morning, Iranian voters began to go to the polls to cast their votes in this second and decisive round of the presidential elections.

According to Article 36 of the Presidential Election Law, all persons who possess Iranian nationality and are at least 18 years of age can participate in the elections by presenting their identity card or national card.

The first round of elections was held last Friday between four candidates Saeed Jalili, Masoud Pezeshkian, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, and Mostafa Pourmohammadi, while the two candidates who qualified for the second round are Pezeshkian and Jalili who obtained the highest votes.
