Al-Qadri calls for lifting the unjust siege imposed on Syria, Geneva

Geneva, SANA- Chairman of the General Federation of Trade Unions in Syria, Jamal Al-Qadri called for lifting the unilateral Western coercive measures imposed on the peoples of Syria, Russia, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela and all free and independent countries, which were imposed illegally and in violation of human rights and international law.

The Syrian people have triumphed over the terrorist organizations and their financiers who targeted Syria, while the foreign occupation forces continue to exacerbate the economic suffering of the Syrian people and workers and limit the state’s efforts in reconstruction and building the economy by plundering its resources of oil, gas and wheat, al-Qadri stressed in a speech in the International Labor Conference in its current 112th session held in Geneva, on Wednesday.

Al-Qadri stressed that reconstruction efforts require effective international intervention to help the Syrian people build their economy and infrastructure that were destroyed by terrorism and its supporters.

Al-Wadri called on the International Labor Organization to intensify and increase efforts and projects directed to all parties of the production process in Syria, especially after the earthquake disaster that struck the country last year.

Al-Qadri hoped for transparent and fair elections for the ILO Board of Directors, which would stop some approches in politicizing its work, wishing the conference success and reaching decisions and goals that serve the organization’s message.
