Homs province’s production of apricot expected to reach 14,000 tons

Homs, SANA- Directorate of Agriculture of the central Syrian province of Homs estimated the production of apricot in the current season at 14,518 tons.

Head of the directorate, Nazih al-Rifaee attributed the decrease in production compared to previous years to the lack of adequate climatic conditions during the flowering period, last April.

He clarified that the total area planted with apricots amounts to 483 hectares with a number of trees reaching 755,641 thousand.
