Damascus, SANA – First Sharia Judge of Damascus Mahmoud al-Maarawi announced on Saturday evening that Sunday June 25th is first day of Eid al-Fitr holiday.

On this occasion, President Bashar al-Assad received congratulatory cables from al-Maarawi and from the Religious Endowments (Awqaf) Minister Mohammad Abdelsattar al-Sayyed, Justice Minister Hisham al-Shaar, and Grand Mufti of the Republic Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun, in which they offered their best wishes to His Excellency.
