Damascus, SANA- The Syrian Civil Defense organized a special awareness workshop on safety and security measures Sunday at the Center for the Deaf and Mute in Damascus.
Held in conjunction with the activities of the 50th Arab Deaf Week, the workshop focused on equipping people of determination with simplified and effective guidelines for responding to emergencies and disasters. It aimed to enhance their readiness to ensure their safety and that of those around them.
On its Telegram channel, the Civil Defense emphasized its belief that safety and security are universal rights, and it is essential to communicate them to all segments of society. It described this initiative as a key step towards building a safer community.
Arab Deaf Week is an annual event organized by specialized associations and institutions across the Arab world. It serves to amplify the voices of the deaf, shed light on their rights, abilities, and challenges, and highlight the importance of empowering them with the knowledge and tools to ensure their protection and full participation in building society.
