Health Ministry discusses cooperation ways with a delegation from French Foreign Ministry

Damascus, SANA- Acting Minister of Health, Dr. Maher al-Sharaa, discussed with a delegation from the French Foreign Ministry and the “Expertise France” agency ways of collaboration in the health field, which would contribute to enhancing the quality of health services.

Dr. al-Sharaa articulated during the meeting held Wednesday at the Ministry building in Damascus that the health sector is dilapidated, and it is necessary to coordinate with all countries, organizations, and medical delegations to secure the many needs that are lacking according to priorities.

The two sides discussed the challenges facing the health sector in Syria and the prospects for cooperation to advance it, stressing the need to work together to rehabilitate the infrastructure of health facilities and restore what was destroyed, secure medical supplies, devices and equipment, and exchange expertise with the aim of raising scientific and medical competencies and expertise.

The delegation members expressed their readiness to implement joint action plans with the Ministry to develop the health sector.

They pointed out that the French Expertise Agency is the French public agency for international cooperation and works within the framework of stabilization programs and creating the necessary conditions to end crises in a sustainable manner, improve human security and support the resilience of affected communities.

The delegation affirmed its commitment to continue cooperating and providing all types of support to improve the quality of health services provided to citizens.
