Israeli entity escalates attacks on Syrian territory, tries to incite division

Damascus, SANA-The past few days have witnessed a dangerous Israeli escalation against Syrian territory.

Four civilians were injured in the Israeli airstrikes that targeted the vicinity of Shatha village, Hama northwestern countryside, four others were martyred in aerial raids on Kanaker village, west of Sweida, meanwhile, Israeli warplanes raided the vicinity of Harasta city in Damascus countryside.

In another flagrant violation of international law and in a clear aggression against Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Israeli aerial warplanes launched several raids targeting the vicinity of Izra city and Muthabin town in Daraa countryside, following the aggression that targeted the vicinity of presidential palace in Damascus on Thursday.

The Israeli entity did not stop at launching such attacks, but also it has tried to incite sectarian and separatist tendencies among the Syrians, in an attempt to weakening the Syrian state and spreading division and chaos there.

This interference cannot be separated from aggressive Israeli policies, based on exploiting differences within Arab countries to weaken them and transform them into fragile entities. This is part of the expansionist dream of establishing a “Greater Israel,” through colonial and expansionist policies based on the motto “divide and conquer” to achieve its goals.

In this context, Oded Yinon scheme, published in 1982 in Hebrew magazine Kivunim, clearly explains Israel’s plan to fragment the Middle East into conflicting states, dividing these states in a way that renders them incapable of confronting Israel.

It’s no surprise that the ferocity of Israeli attacks and its blatant intervention in Syria have increased since the first day of the overthrow of former regime, Israel has launched wide-ranging raids that targeted several Syrian sites.

The Israeli aggression towards Syria was clearly evident in the statements of the occupying entity’s officials, as its Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, declared in several statements that he opposes the establishment of a New Syria, calling for the disarmament and non-deployment of Syrian Arab Army forces throughout southern Syria, in a flagrant interference in internal affairs.

In a response to these condemned statements came from sheikhdom of Akl of Druze Unitarian Community on April 29th, which stressed on the national and religious stance throughout history which was side by side with all Syrian people, asserting the rejection of sedition and discord.

Israeli interventions did not stop with the aggressive statements of the prime minister of the occupying government against Syria. Rather, defense and foreign ministers, Yisrael Katz and Gideon Sa’ar, participated in this coordinated campaign, attempting to incite the Kurdish component to confront the Syrian government.

This did not find the desired response among the various segments of the Syrian people, as the vast majority expressed their rejection of such interventions and attacks and their support for the leadership and the army in the face of any aggression against Syrian territory, as occurred in the heroic confrontation of the attempted Israeli incursion into the rural area of Daraa.

Today, Israel’s malicious policy of inciting sectarian conflict, division, and discord has returned in its most blatant form against Syria. We see frantic attempts to incite conflict and incite certain groups to foment chaos and oppose the State and its legitimate institutions.

We must all be aware of the dangers and repercussions of this, and stand united against these attempts to target Syria and its people, and to defeat Israel’s aggressive expansionist plans and projects.
